A collection of Annea Lockwood's early works which had featured on SOURCE: Music of the Avant Garde, a legendary magazine that had published new & experimental music from 1967-73, including works by J. Cage, D. Tudar, T. Ichiyanagi, D. Rosenboom, MEV, H. Chopin, T. Riley, M. Newhause & many others. This CD includes the album Glass World (1970) and a tape music piece Tiger Balm (1970), plus the series of performance entitled Piano Transplants (1967-82) on a special booklet.
Annea Lockwood was born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1939 and lived in London and Cologne from 1961-72, studying at the Royal College of Music and the Musikhochschule, Koln, and freelancing as a composer-performer. Since 1973 she has lived in Peekskill, New York, and taught on the faculty of Music at Vassar College, New York from 1982-2001. Her music has been presented in North America, Britain, France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Italy, Belgium, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand.
